HHS Innovation Day

Experience first-hand how entrepreneurial approaches and innovative thinking can advance work in government and create sustainable impact. Join the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for HHS Innovation Day on December 13th, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM in the Great Hall at the Hubert H. Humphrey Building in Washington, D.C.
You’ll hear from stellar employees at HHS who are working to improve how their office or agency delivers on their mission – and who perform #HHSInnovation. Bruce Greenstein, the Chief Technology Officer at HHS, will give the opening address to open up the day’s dialogue around innovation in government.
You’ll hear from Keynote speaker, Dr. Rasu Shrestha, the Chief Innovation Officer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) who will share how he drives innovation at UPMC.
You’ll hear from Joshua Marcuse,the Executive Director at the Defense Innovation Board, Office of the Secretary of Defense, who will be speaking as our featured Government Innovation Speaker.
You’ll also learn and practice design thinking in a crash course & facilitation led by Dean Chang, Vice President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland (UMD). Chang serves as the leader of the UMD Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Please note that you will need a government issued ID to enter the Hubert H. Humphrey Building in Washington, D.C. You will have to pass through a security gate when entering the building. Please arrive 30-45 minutes early to allow for enough time to enter through security.
